Experience

Monica Haddad has mediated over 2,000 legal disputes throughout the State of West Virginia.

Monica’s mediation practice is primarily focused upon civil litigation matters and workplace disputes. As an experienced mediator and litigator, Monica offers her clients insight into the possible consequences of litigation and the benefits to a mediated settlement. Monica Is on the list of mediators maintained by the West Virginia State Bar and is an approved West Virginia family court mediator. She is also a certified mediator in North Carolina.

She practiced law for 20 years as a litigator where she represented insureds and clients throughout the State of West Virginia in a wide variety of legal disputes and insurance related matters including: personal injury, products liability, employment, contracts, insurance coverage and first and third party insurance claims. During that time, Monica’s trial experience consisted of over 30 trials. Since 2011, she has focused her practice solely on mediation.

Monica has had extensive education and training in dispute resolution and mediation. She has completed all basic and advanced mediation training recommended by the West Virginia State Bar and several advanced mediation trainings offered by the National Association of Distinguished Neutrals. As Chairperson of the West Virginia State Bar’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee Monica planned and implemented the annual Basic and Advanced Mediation Trainings offered by the West Virginia State Bar for its attorneys for 10 years. She participated as a mediation panelist and/or contributor for the West Virginia State Bar, the WVU College of Law WVCLE, the West Virginia Magistrate Courts, West Virginia County Bar Associations, the West Virginia Association for Justice, the West Virginia Defense Trial Counsel and the WV Department of Health and Human Resources.

Monica also serves as a Supervising Attorney in the WVU College of Law General Practice Clinic. She has been named a “Super Lawyer” in ADR, a West Virginia Bar Foundation Fellow, and a West Virginia Wonder Woman. Active in her community, Monica serves on the boards of  the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties and the Rape and Domestic Violence Information Center.  As Chairperson of the 2024 Campaign for her local United Way, Monica helped raise over $1 million for those in her community.
